OUR STAFF

ROBYN ALLEN – DIRECTOR

Robyn’s career in financial services began at the age of 17 when she got her first ‘grown up’ job with the Halifax. Following in her fathers footsteps she undertook a variety of roles with the business but really found her passion when she began her role as a Financial Consultant, this role focused on helping customers protect their futures.

Following redundancy in late 2014, and plenty of soul searching, she took the brave step of starting her own firm specialising in Protection. The rest is history.

Q & A WITH ROBYN

If a movie was produced about your life, who would play you and why?

Ruby Rose (according to the team), but mostly down to the similar hairstyles ?

Who has most inspired you and why?

I definitely have to say my Dad, I followed in his footsteps into Banking when I was 17 and without that journey I wouldn’t be where I am today.

In 3 words how would you best describe Robyn/Meg/Ryan?

Meg – happy, confident, caring

Ryan –  strong, intelligent, surprising

What was your favourite subject at school?

Joint favourites were Maths and P.E – neither of them felt like hard work yet there was always something new to learn

What is one thing about you that surprises people?

That I am a member of Mensa

What does success mean to you?

Success to me means achieving balance, never giving up your ‘life’ for your business whilst still working hard to achieve your goals.

RYAN– INSURANCE ADVISOR

Ryan joined the company in April 2018 after spending a decade working within regulated industries such as energy and healthcare. Starting his career in the Tribunals Service, Ryan’s experience spans public, private and charitable sectors; most recently as an executive for a regional children’s charity.

Recognised by Prime Minister Gordon Brown for leading a continuous improvement programme across the Asylum & Immigration Tribunal, Ryan’s passion for operational excellence and his background in business development has supported the company’s rapid and sustainable growth.

Ryan

Q & A WITH RYAN

If a movie was produced about your life, who would play you and why?

Stone Cold Steve Austin – simply for the beard and shaved head combo, the liking for beer and the distaste for authority (although I’m yet to put the boss through a table like in the WWE!). It wouldn’t be that fascinating a biopic as I mostly go to the gym, play on the computer and go for long walks. Maybe Bill Murray would be a better choice.

Who has most inspired you and why?

Arnold Schwarzenegger – How Arnold rose from humble roots in Austria to become 7 time Mr Olympia, a movie star and a successful politician. Arnold dedicated himself to continual mental and physical improvement and is an inspiration for bodybuilders across the world.

In 3 words how would you best describe Robyn/Meg/Ryan?

Meg – outgoing, enthusiastic, ambitious

Robyn – driven, brainy, ethical

What was your favourite subject at school?

P.E. as it never seemed like work, more like an extended lunch break of running around a field playing football.

What is one thing about you that surprises people?

That I do smile. In most photos I look quite miserable but that’s just my resting face! I believe that forced smiles in photos look creepy so I tend to go for the dark and moody look!

What does success mean to you?

Success means never having to worry about bills, having enough money to do as I please and being respected by my peers.

MEG – TRAINEE INSURANCE ADVISOR

Meg’s ability to relate to and connect with people was evident from the first time Robyn met her during a local networking meeting. Meg’s enthusiasm, ability to explain technical information in the customer’s language, and background in customer service made her stand out as the obvious choice to join the company in August 2018.

Meg’s varied career which spanned travel consultancy, surveying, sales and marketing helped her to develop a unique and engaging style which is perfectly aligned with the company’s culture and focus on the customer. Feeling that she has found her niche within financial services, Meg is excited to help more families protect their future.

Meg

Q & A WITH MEG

If a movie was produced about your life, who would play you and why?

A mix between Miranda Hart because she has my sense of humour and Angelina Jolie because some of her features are similar to mine and I looked up to her as a child.

Who has most inspired you and why?

My beautiful grandad inspired me to embrace myself, make people laugh and fill a room with love because that is the way he is. If I could be even a quarter of the person he is, then I would be happy.

In 3 words how would you best describe Robyn/Meg/Ryan?

Robyn – understanding, knowledgeable and confident.

Ryan –  gentle, friendly and relatable.

What was your favourite subject at school?

Drama as it came naturally to me.

What is one thing about you that surprises people?

That I love craft work and making personal cards for my close family and friends.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me means happiness, because when you succeed in your personal life and professional life you feel happy.
